Wendover Road
A kitchen renovation with a new mudroom addition. The program for this project was to reimagine the existing kitchen space, which was dark and narrow, into the rear portion of the kitchen area, which was underused. This was achieved by relocating the powder room and adding a walk-in pantry and a butler’s pantry to the narrow area between the dining and rear sections of the existing kitchen. The kitchen would now live in the larger cathedral area at the rear of the house. This allowed for sufficient space to include an island, a dedicated area for a four-foot-wide fridge and speed oven, as well as an area for a table and chairs that looked out into the yard. A side entry with a French sliding glass door was added to the kitchen, allowing for indoor-outdoor entertaining and grilling. A small mudroom addition was added to provide the family with a convenient entrance to the home from the driveway and a place for coats and backpacks.
